Camera died on monday...

this was the only pic i managed to catch=P

Well, it was raining, and we were walkin along orchard road. The traffic light between orchard mrt and borders was flashin--with only 8 secs left to the green man. But, we decided to make a run for it instead of waiting in the rain.

So we ran.....

and GDI.....my left slipper got stuck onto the road. (not just the simple slip out of your feet kind....its one of those sad moments when u ran, and the slipper literally gets stuck to the floor due to the worn-out sole being sucked to the water on the floor like a plunger. And the momentum of ur runnnin causes u to run at least 3 steps away=P) so i ran back....picked it up and continued running to the other side with one bare foot.

And !#$%^&*, this time, while i was running, my right slipper got stuck and came off. As you would have guessed, the 8 seconds was LOONG over and cars were starting to move. so i decided to forget it and get to the other side first.

The guys were like..."erm...wth are u doin barefooted?"

"my slipper is in the middle of the road......"

and so we had to wait....in the rain....

but at least it provided for some entertainment...even for the pple waiting at the traffic light too..

As life progresses, it's always easy to get sucked into the madness of endless studying; of getting drawn into the never-ending late nights; of being overwhelmed by the ever-increasing stress.

Most of all, it's seems all too easy to forget friends and to feel the guilt of spending time with people, when books beckon and as exams draw near. Seems all so easy to neglect the world, to assume the world stops spinning just for that few weeks.

Then once the exams end, the world turns once again---for that few moments before the cycle repeats all over again.

Well, i pray that we all find peace and that we all know that life is just a journey. Books and school are but tools. "In life, we can look at it as being just abt 2 things, in pursuit of tools and using these tools."

Other than the obvious materialistic things, education (too) is but another tool. Unconsciously, we find that it's so easy to put our lives on hold, in pursuit of this medicine education, so that we can help people later. Not literally on hold, but unconsciously, we assume that this tool will determine who we are in the future.

We are who we are. Tools will never define who we are----tools will only help us in doing the things we wanna do. We all said we want(ed?) to be doctors because we care; because we want to make a difference; because we hope to change, or for the simple fact that someone believed in you to be that change, their hope and their healer. Be who you are, use the tools you have acquired til then to help you and those around you live. Don't get so consumed in the pursuit of tools that we place our lives on hold. Don't unconsciously/consciously tell ourselves that we'll be able to "do more", "change", "live" when "this" is done.

Life is a journey, not a destination. It's transient, and it can always end anytime.

If there's someone who you've always wanted to ask how he or she was, ask now. If there was someone who you kept saying that you just have to catch up with soon, but never got down to doing it, call him now. If there's someone who seems down, walk up to her and smile. If there's anything in your heart that u wanna do, just go=)

For most of us we care that's why we studied medicine. Don''t study medicine and tell ourselves it's so that *one day* we can care.
