Bikram!!!

I have a new "goal" and it is to exercise at least once a week. heh.

After hearing yansheng's experience at Bikram, lynette and I decided to join in too. This was despite ys telling us that he fell "sick" after his first session---malaise, tired etc etc. haha. And from a cg outing, lynette's sister, li and li's sister all decided to join in too=)

Hockey Junior World Cup Opening Ceremony

Finally managed to edit the photos from the Hockey Junior World Cup=) So that's one less batch of photos to do. Must admit tt this took up quite a bit of time.

This is the opening ceremony of the Standard Chartered Hockey Junior World Cup--co-hosted by Singapore and Malaysia. The Singapore matches were held at the Sengkang Sports an Recreational Centre.

A bunch of us photographers (abt 6 of us I think?) were doing photo coverage for ESPNStar Sports.

Night Safari=)

I know I have been in Singapore for..ever, but I really couldn't recall the last time I was at the Night Safari. So here we are on a night safari "excursion".=P Also decided to go on the Night Safari because they were having a 50% off promotion during the hols...

Went with Li's siblings and some friends....cuz her brother absolutely loves animals.

It was surprisingly crowded....and this was the last show of the night too.

Some weird pseudo-monkey animal (whose name I can't remember) climbing directly above our heads.

Dinner with everyone in Edin=) At PS=)

Everyone who was in Edinburgh for the weekend met up for some dinner at a place which we coined as Plaza Singapura. =) We started naming all the places in Edinburgh after Singapore landmarks so as to remember them better. This one was PS cuz it was hip and near the outskirts of town. There was quite a bit of good food and it was crowded more with locals than tourists. Plus it had a cinema on the top floor. Oh and it had a giraffe on the outside of the shopping mall. Though the one at Edin was a giraffe statue and the one in Singapore is a giraffe restaurant=P

But it became PS from that day onwards=)

So here we are...Liyana, Huilin, Kah Hua, Marcuz and Chin Siang=)

Marcus telling us his doubly big and juicy stories, while kah hua looks disapprovingly=P

Gathering at Jianping's House=)

This was after we came back from Edinburgh. It was nice meeting up with everyone after such a long time. Had some good food, watched some soccer and played some rock band=) Not to mention, talked a bit about cameras too because Chin Siang recently bought a new Nikon D5000 for himself. Congrats! Have fun shooting=)

Farmers' Market and Arthur's Seat=)

Jiat lat man! My com is super super slow=S Editing photos is almost becoming a chore...sighs.
It's such a mixed feeling editing photos---happiness/bittersweet at remembering the happy moments and the frustration of having to wait for minutes just for each picture and action to load.!!! hahahaha...*rolls over and dies*.

Anyway, here we are on another bright and beautiful day in Edinburgh. We woke up early today to visit a farmers' market located somewhere near the foot of Edinburgh Castle. Our first Farmers' market----and it didn't disappoint=)

After which, we trooped off to climb Arthur's Seat--one of the plateau-looking hills surrounding Edinburgh city. The skies were blue, the grass was green and sun was shining brightly. Most importantly it was cool and windy! sighs=) Perfect.... *tears of joy*

It was crowded....when we sa the long stretch of stalls, we were all just so happy!=)

Super chatty freshly-homemade-chips guy who has a serious vendetta against "unhealthy" packet chips, people who eat unhealthily AND people who are super boring and don't give his long list of flavours (on the multi-coloured post-its behind) a try. It was extremely puzzling, cuz I was wondering how on earth is his deep fried chips any healthier. And I ordered Vinegar and Sea Salt....hehe....so much for his long speech abt how people should try a different flavour once in a while..=P

One of my first official photos=)

Yay=) I think this is my first newspaper print as an official photographer=) Not sure if there are other photos elsewhere because ESPN handles the media releases.

In any case, this is the Standard Chartered FIH Junior World Cup--held at the Sengkang sports centre. Do go down to support/watch if you are free=) It is supposedly the 4th biggest sporting event in the world, but, surprisingly, it is receiving little publicity here (other than in newspapers). The media coverage is being handled by ESPN, so do go to their website for updates and match schedules. All the photos will also be going to them since the photographers are under them--though I am not sure if they have updated their website yet.

i miss edinburgh!

here are just a few photos i took of our walk up the royal mile and edinburgh castle. i loved the bustley-ness of the royal mile and the fact that they closed off the entire road for people to saunter up and down slowly taking in the sights, sounds and smells..

Scots Monument! I really love it.. It reminds me of everything Edinburgh.

AWESOME DAIRY ICE CREAM. somehow it was just incredibly tasty - almost honeycombish. and there was a gigantic flake stuck on each of the ice creams. YUM. oh it wasn't about to rain cats and dogs or hail. i just played around with the brush function on lightroom and set the exposure of the sky to super low :P for fun.

haha it was a cute sign. :)

the heart of the royal mile. there's a story behind it.. it's the only heart shape in the whole mile. i don't quite remember the story, other than it involves a prison entrance and spitting on the heart. haha.. me, marcus and ambika came back again and spat on it.

Edinburgh Castle is probably the first castle i can recollect visiting.. it's everything you expect a castle to be - brooding, imposing, ostentatious, made of stone slabs and have a magnificent view.

Edinburgh Castle=)

Have been editing my photos really really slowly. So after another long wait, here is the next set of photos from my Edinburgh Electives. These photos are still of the first few days of our trip there.

This batch of photos is also of the Royal Mile, but this time we went into the Edinburgh castle=)

Our soon-to-be familiar sight of Princes street----we had to come by this place to change buses in order to get to the Royal Infirmary every morning.
